Jumped on the music video game didn’t I

I have been pretty quiet, but I swear I’ve been working hard lately!

Basically, I know some dudes who were looking for a dope video to kickstart their brand new EP. Now I’ve never shot a music video before, but I gave it a good crack.

This was a hell of a lot of fun to shoot and plan.  We met in my local and had a few beers while going over some initial ideas for the video, which we then soon binned and went for the classic live music video mixed in with some generic pop punk BBQ fun times to intercut the live footage.

Shot this bad boy on my good old GoPro Hero 3 Black in 1080p/60, 720p/120 on my iPhone 5s and at 720p/50 on my trusty 600D.  I chose to shoot at higher frame rates so I could play with the footage later on as I planned to record the whole gig and intercut the parts of the songs without vocals with other parts of the gig at a slower fps.  I shot at 1080p on the GoPro because I didn’t really move it during the gig, instead opting playing with the scale of the footage later on so it would look like I was shooting from multiple perspectives.

I went for a pretty dark and desaturated look for the performance as it’s a bit of a downer of a song as far as pop punk tunes go, but upped the saturation for the BBQ shots which I jammed in during the choruses.

All in all, not a bad first attempt, I reckon.
